Overview
Woosung Jang worked at the Korean National Police Agency for 15 years where he investigated into economic, cyber, industrial technology leakage and major crimes. While serving as the head of the Cyber Investigation Division, Mr. Jang took the lead in protecting digital contents by cracking down on illegal webtoon piracy sites at the request of the domestic webtoon industry and by arresting private game server operators to protect the game industry. While working as the head of the Foreign Affairs Investigations Division, he hosted the Interpol Intellectual Property Forum and, in partnership with the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism, proposed to provide funding for Interpol in an effort to protect domestic cultural contents.
Mr. Jang earned a B.A. in Philosophy from Hanyang University. After completing the 34th training course of the Judicial Research and Training Institute, Supreme Court of Korea on January 31, 2005, he was appointed as superintendent of the Korean National Police Agency on July 15 of the same year. He completed a master's degree in Labor Law from Korea University Graduate School of Labor Studies. Since joining Bae, Kim & Lee LLC in December 2020, he has advised and represented his clients in criminal disputes.
