Overview
Seung-Jin Kim is a partner at Bae, Kim & Lee IP. Since joining the firm in 2019, he represented a wide range of domestic and international clients for patent prosecutions, trials, and litigations.
As an experienced patent attorney, he has handled a large number of cases in patent prosecution, infringement, invalidation, licensing and counselling and also has experience as an in-house attorney at a bio-company in molecular diagnostics. He also has experience in patent prosecutions not only in Korea but also in foreign countries such as the U.S., Europe, China, Japan and so on.
Mr. Kim’s main focus areas include inventions of biotechnology relating to genetic engineering, DNA fragments, antibodies, recombinant proteins, micro-organisms including virus and bacteria, transgenic animals and plants, and also the field of cosmetic and food material, pharmaceuticals, organic chemistry, and bio-macromolecules.
Mr. Kim received his bachelor's degree in genetic engineering from Korea University in 1996 and his master's degree in biological sciences from Korea Advanced Institute of Science and Technology in 1998. He is also a member of the Korea Patent Attorney Association (KPAA).
