Overview
Ho Kyung Chang joined Bae, Kim & Lee LLC in 2009 and has since worked extensively in advising major domestic and international private equity funds and multinational companies with a broad range of general corporate and transactional matters, including cross-border mergers and acquisitions, private equity transactions, financial transactions and corporate governance, among other areas of practice.
Throughout his career, Mr. Chang has represented major domestic and international private equity funds such as Affinity Equity, MBK Partners, Anchor Equity, VIG Partners, H&Q Korea Partners, Mirae Asset Partners, STIC Investments, Hanwha Asset Management and Hana Financial Investment, to name a few, in high-profile domestic and cross-border transactions, including investment in major domestic and foreign companies such as Kakao, Shinhan Financial Group, CJ Healthcare, Homeplus, Line Games, Serveone, 11st Street, LS Cable & System Asia, Selecta (Brazil), CJ CGV (HK), Century Logistics (Malaysia) and K-Swiss (USA).
Moreover, Mr. Chang has also represented top domestic and multinational corporations such as Samsung Electronics, Tesco, LG, Delivery Hero, Sony Music, CJ, KT, Dongbu, and Woongjin on major inbound and outbound transactions relating to share and asset purchases, joint ventures, divestments, spin-offs, and corporate restructurings. He has experience in many areas include the food industry, cargo logistics, hypermarket, online food delivery, MRO, fintech, healthcare, telecommunications, online gaming, entertainment and retail groups, among others.
Mr. Chang received his LL.B. from Seoul National University in 2005 and his LL.M. from Georgetown University Law Center in 2014. He was admitted to the Korean and New York bars, and also worked as an international lawyer at Arnold & Porter LLP in Washington D.C. He is currently a member of the Legal Advisory Panel for Small and Medium-Sized Enterprises Doing Business Abroad under the Ministry of Justice.
