Overview
Myungsun Cho is a patent attorney at BAE, KIM & LEE IP and is a member of the trial/litigation team in the field of chemistry including pharmaceutical and biotechnology matters. She joined the firm in 2018 after serving at the Korean Intellectual Property Office (KIPO) for 20 years.
She earned her B.A. and M.A. in pharmacy and later obtained a Ph.D. in molecular biology from the US. After joining KIPO in 1997, she was in charge of examinations and trials in the field of chemistry, particularly in pharmaceutics and biotechnology, for more than 20 years. She also served as chief of the Pharmaceutical Examination Division and was the chief trial judge of the Intellectual Property Trial & Appeal Board (IPTAB), dealing with major pharmaceutical and biotechnological cases involving domestic and foreign pharmaceutical companies. While dispatched as a patent researcher of the Supreme Court and a technical examiner of the Patent Court for four years in total, she built her carrier in the field of patent litigation. Based on these experiences, she now advises and represents clients in pharmaceutical and biotech litigations involving IP.
