Cheolhyo Ahn focuses his practice on M&As between Korean and foreign (particularly, South-East Asia), outbound investments and licenses/permits, construction and real estate projects and development and operation of hotels by companies at home and abroad.

As a senior foreign attorney specializing in outbound investments, Mr. Ahn advised POSCO, CJ, and Shinsegae on complicated M&A transactions and joint venture projects in South-East Asia; domestic financial institutions, including KB Bank, Lotte Card and Hyundai Marine & Fire Insurance on M&A deals with local financial institutions and obtainment of licenses/permits. Additionally, he has built extensive experience and knowledge in construction and operation of hotels domestically and internationally. He obtained a B.A. in Economics from Seoul National University, M.B.A. from Michigan University School of Business (1994) and J.D. from Emory University School of Law (1998). Before joining Bae, Kim & Lee LLC, he worked at Hughes Hubbard & Reed LLP in New York (1999-2005), Yulchon LLC in Seoul and Legal Team, Yahoo Korea & Overture Korea.
