Overview
Jeonghee Kang's practice focuses on fair trade, personal information, intellectual property rights, broadcasting and communications, etc.
Ms. Kang started her career as a lawyer at a law firm in 2008, where she responded to investigations by the Korea Fair Trade Commission and provided advice thereon, in numerous cases involving domestic and foreign cartels, prohibition of abuse of market dominance, corporate mergers, unfair support practices, and unfair trade practices, and handled a number of administrative lawsuits against dispositions issued by the Korea Fair Trade Commission.
Thereafter, Ms. Kang worked in Samsung Electronics' Compliance Team, Personal Information TF, and Antitrust Team, where she conducted compliance activities regarding various issues, and was in charge of contract negotiations with Apple, Google, and Qualcomm and review of general antitrust issues, and also served as a project leader in the case involving Qualcomm's abuse of market dominance. Based on the above experience, while serving as a research judge (in charge of fair trade) at the Supreme Court of Korea, in addition to administrative litigation related to fair trade, she was in charge of administrative cases in which the Personal Information Protection Commission and the Korea Communications Commission were defendants.
Ms. Kang is a lawyer specializing in fair trade and personal information who has experience in various positions as a law firm attorney, principal legal counsel at a global company, and research judge at the Supreme Court of Korea, and received a doctoral degree on the topic of 'Big Data and Exclusionary Abuse'.
