Overview
Since his appointment as judge in 2011, Sanghyun Lee served for 11 years as judge (including a judge in the Intellectual Property Division of the Seoul Central District Court) until his resignation as a law clerk of the Supreme Court in 2022. Mr. Lee earned a doctoral degree in intellectual property law from Seoul National University and also an LL.M. in intellectual property law from George Washington Law School. He has experience in analyzing from legal perspective, and conducting in-depth researches on, numerous criminal cases at the Supreme Court.
Mr. Lee jointly wrote the Annotation of the Unfair Competition Prevention Act and presented many papers on intellectual property rights including “Protection of Intellectual Creations under Tort Law,” “A Comparative Approach to Nonobviousness of Selection Inventions -Superior Effect and Motivation to Select,” and “Patent Infringement by Multiple Entities from the Perspective of Joint Tort Analysis.”
