Overview

Youngjoo Song is responsible for providing advice on public policy & life science, pharmaceutical and medical devices, public health, government relations, and risk management, etc. at Bae, Kim & Lee LLC.

Prior to joining BKL, Ms. Song worked for Johnson & Johnson Korea where she, as the head of Government Affairs & Policy, had been in charge of overall management of the public relations and policies of affiliates with respect to pharmaceutical manufacturing, medical devices, consumer goods, and OTC, etc. for more than 12 years.

Ms. Song has acquired vast experience in the fields of public health and health care while working for a media outlet and the government. She started her journalism career as a journalist at the Hankook Ilbo and then advanced to the positions of the head of Living & Science Department, editor, an editorial board member, and a senior medical reporter, etc. She served as the director of the Policy Management and Public Relations Department at the Ministry of Health and Welfare. She also worked as a takemi fellow of the Department of Global Health at the Harvard School of Public Health.

Ms. Song received her B.A., M.P.H. and Ph.D. in Public Health, all from Yonsei University. She joined BKL in 2022.
