Overview

Ugu Choi is a partner at Bae, Kim & Lee LLC, specializing in financial regulation, capital market transactions, corporate restructuring, and complex litigation. His practice covers a broad range of financial and corporate matters, including mergers and acquisitions, securities disputes, and cross-border insolvency.

Since joining the firm in 2015, Mr. Choi has advised financial institutions, investment funds, and corporations on regulatory compliance and transactional structuring in cross-border deals. He has extensive experience in corporate rehabilitation, private work-out arrangements, and bankruptcy-related litigation. Additionally, he has represented major domestic and multinational clients in high-stakes corporate disputes.

Mr. Choi obtained his J.D. from Korea University School of Law in 2012 and was admitted to the Korean Bar the same year. Before joining Bae, Kim & Lee LLC, he served as a judge advocate in the Korean Army. In 2022, he earned an LL.M. from New York University School of Law and was admitted to the New York Bar.
