BKL’s Southeast Asia Practice Group has been at the forefront of the ever deepening Korean presence in the Southeast Asian markets since the early 2000s. With lawyers and offices strategically positioned across major cities in Southeast Asia, we combine strong global networks and local expertise to provide clients with comprehensive legal services and on-the-ground support.
Our success in Southeast Asia is continually reflected in ratings media, including the Acquisition Deal of the Year at the Vietnam M&A Forum each year from 2016 to 2020 consecutively and the Best M&A Advisor at the Vietnam M&A Forum in 2019 and 2020.

We have a tight grasp of the local culture, business practices and languages, and the most extended legal network of any Korean firm in Southeast Asia. Our lawyers are qualified in Vietnam, Myanmar, Korea and the US, and have extensive experience over many years across a number of jurisdictions in Southeast Asia. In order to support our clients’ needs for legal services in Southeast Asia, we opened offices in Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City in 2015, and Myanmar in 2016. In addition, since 2018, we have been operating a Korea desk in association with a top tier law firm in Indonesia. We strive to navigate and build cooperative working relationships with major firms in other Southeast Asian countries such as Thailand, Philippines, Malaysia, Cambodia and Laos, allowing us to provide comprehensive legal services across the entire region.
