Sungjun Hong is a member of the Bankruptcy & Corporate Restructuring Team in Bae, Kim & Lee LLC (BKL). Mr. Hong's practice areas include: corporate and financial litigation; application for bankruptcy and relevant counsel, and litigation related to bankruptcy; civil and criminal suits and admistrative law suits.

Mr. Hong had worked as a judge at Seoul District Court, Seoul Administrative Court, Gangneung Branch of Chuncheon District Court, Seoul Central District Court (Bankruptcy Div.), etc. since appointed as a judge in 1997. He satarted his attorney career at a law firm, Jipyong & Jisung, in 2008 and joined BKL as a partner in April 2011. When serving as a judge in the Bankruptcy Division of Seoul Central District Court, he was responsible for preparing and conducting corporate rehabilitation procedure in accordance with the Debtor Rehabilitation and Bankruptcy Act and successfully handled M&A tasks involving companies in need of reorganization and reorganized companies.

Mr. Hong was one of co-authors of 1st edition of the bankruptcy practice guidebooks published by Seoul Central District Court in 2006, and also wrote many papers on corporate rehabilitation procedure and M&A of the corporation in the rehabilition procedure. He served as a commissioner of the Committee for Insolvency Law Amendment for the Court Administration Office, the Ministry of Justice and the Korea Federation of Banks. Currently, he is serving as a commissioner of Rehabilitation and Bankruptcy Committee of the Court Administration Office, while regularly teaching Insolvency Law at the Judicial Research Training Institute, Training Institute for Court Officials, Korean Bar Association, Seoul Bar Association, Korea Desposit Insurance Corporation and Seoul National University Center for Financial Law. He also serves as chairman of Insolvency Law Institute of Korea and director of Korea Insolvency Law Association. Apart from this, he used to be a commissioner of Delisting Review Committee in the Securities Market organized by the Korea Exchange.
