Jaejoon Kim mainly focuses his practice on advice concerning companies' growth and development, such as support for the growth of companies after their foundation, IPO, public notification and credit assessment for liquidation of listed companies, financing of listed companies, listed companies' division and re-inclusion, and re-structuring of their holding companies, and support for listed companies' new business opportunity, etc.
Mr. Kim is a capital market expert who worked for all of the five committees of the Korea Exchange (KRX) for around 30 years after his joining in 1987. While serving as chair of KOSDAQ Market Commission and head of KOSDAQ Market Committee from 2014 to 2017, he reformed the IPO requirements to be more growth potential oriented for venture companies' financing and vitalization of the KOSDAQ market, and diversified the tracks for new IPOs by allowing special cases for growth and the Tesla Requirements, etc., which resulted in about 500 new IPOs in the KOSDAQ market and the KONEX market. He also established the Korea Start-up Market (KSM) and KRX M&A brokerage network, greatly contributing to building a corporate growth ladder system that interlinks “foundation of a business-KSM-KONEX Market-KOSDAQ Market”. Based on his experience in the capital market and the KOSDAQ Market Commission as its chair for about 30 years, he has advised his clients on the IPOs and main issues thereof, and, since 2018, in particular, he has provided advice to his clients on the IPOs of bio companies and development of the biotechnology industry, serving as advisor at the Korea Biotechnology Industry Organization.
