概要
Minwoon Yang is a senior foreign lawyer with Bae, Kim & Lee LLC (BKL), Seoul. Mr. Yang joined BKL in 1998 and is presently with the firm's Corporate and Regulatory practice groups. He has handled many M&A deals and inbound investments in Korea, in industries such as energy, high technology, automotive, online services and retail. He is a veteran of many post-M&A and co-investor disputes as well, and was one of the lead lawyers in the Global Arbitration Review's 2010 Win of the Year.
In recent years his practice has focused increasingly on data privacy, along with the broader regulatory framework for frontier technologies and disruptor business models. Mr. Yang has assisted clients such as Tesla and Uber throughout preparation for business launch in Korea. He has helped advise many online enterprises and platforms on their regulatory questions, in segments like social media, mobility, data aggregators and entertainment. He has a keen interest in gig economy and other spillover effects of connectivity, and was organizer and moderator of the “sharing economy” panel session at the ABA International Law Section's Seoul conference in October 2018. He is a lead editor of BKL's Korea Technology Sector Legal Developments newsletter. He is a graduate of Harvard Law School (J.D., 1992) and the University of Chicago (B.A., 1988).
