Jaegyu Yoo's main practice areas include intellectual property right lawsuits, trade secret and technology leakage, intellectual property right management, strategic advisory service, and other advisory services in respect of media, e-commerce and games. In particular, Mr. Yoo's advisory services focus on technology-related disputes involving IT companies and legal issues arising in the contents industry and he provides legal advice for various startups.
Mr. Yoo earned a B.S. degree in Electronic and Electrical Engineering from Yonsei University and a J.D. degree from Yonsei University Law School. After earning a LL.M. from Duke University School of Law, he gained hands-on experience in the area of patent litigations and ITC disputes involving IT technology during his secondment to Fish & Rischardson P.C. He worked as a reporter at the Report Department of Seoul Broadcasting System for 5 years and based on his experience as a reporter, he contributed articles on intellectual property rights and various other legal issues on a bi-weekly basis for 'Legal Prism', a column of the Weekly Kyunghyang Magazine. Also, he was seconded to the Legal Affairs Department of the PyeongChang Organizing Committee for the 2018 Olympic and Paralympic Winter Games to advise on various legal issues for the successful hosting of the Olympics and Paralympics. He also actively engages in pro bono activities for persons with disability, refugees and foreign migrants.
