Kwangsik Choi provides advisory services on regulatory matters under the Financial Investment Services and Capital Markets Act, particularly in relation to responding to investigations and criminal probes into unfair trading practices such as fraudulent transactions, market manipulation, use of non-public information, and illegal short selling, as well as responding to disclosure and accounting oversight (audit review) matters.
Mr. Choi served at the Financial Supervisory Service for 28 years, from 1995 to 2023, where he was primarily responsible for the regulation of unfair trading practices. During his tenure, he worked in the Investigation Department 1, Investigation Department 2, and the Special Investigation Department (currently Investigation Department 3). He also handled capital markets regulatory functions in various other departments, including the Accounting Investigation Department, the Disclosure Review Department, and the Financial Investment Examination Department. In addition, he was responsible for market oversight functions, including foreign investment management, at the Capital Market Supervision Department.
