Jiyoung Sohn is a member of the firm's Technology, Media & Telecommunications (TMT) Practice. She advises multinational companies on complex regulatory, investigative, and compliance matters arising from technology-driven and data-centric business operations. Her practice focuses on enforcement and risk management issues involving digital business operations and regulatory risk.

Ms. Sohn counsels global companies on a broad range of TMT issues, including data privacy and protection, cross-border data transfers, cybersecurity incident response, digital platform and online content regulation, and telecommunications compliance. She regularly assists clients in responding to government investigations and regulatory inquiries involving privacy and data protection.

In addition to her TMT practice, Ms. Sohn advises on corporate investigations and white-collar matters, representing multinational companies in internal and government-facing investigations involving fraud, bribery, workplace misconduct, and other regulatory violations, often in matters involving technology-related evidence and cross-border data issues. She also counsels clients on compliance, corporate governance, and crisis management, with particular experience in the automotive, consumer goods, and technology sectors.

Prior to joining Bae, Kim & Lee LLC, Ms. Sohn served as a Foreign Attorney at Kim & Chang from 2012 to 2018, where she represented a broad range of companies in investigations and disputes. Earlier in her career, she was an associate at Simpson Thacher & Bartlett LLP in New York from 2007 to 2012, focusing on capital markets.

Ms. Sohn received B.A. in Political Science from Yale University in 1999 and a J.D. from University of Pennsylvania Law School in 2007. She is admitted to the New York Bar. Prior to her legal career, Ms. Sohn worked as a management consultant at Accenture.
