Jae Hyun Kim's practice focuses on advising and representing clients in litigation involving overall corporate labor and employment risks, including labor and employment issues, collective labor-management relations, labor-related criminal matters, illegal dispatch, and serious accidents. He has particular expertise in complex and high-level labor relations matters, such as the employer status of the original contractor, collective bargaining, unfair labor practices, and response to subcontractor labor unions.
Mr. Kim earned a B.A. from Korean National Police University and a J.D. from Pusan National University Law School. After serving at the Busan Metropolitan Police Agency, he has been practicing at Bae, Kim & Lee LLC since 2019. In cases where investigations by the Labor Office, police and prosecutorial investigations, Labor Relations Commission procedures, and civil and administrative litigation arise concurrently, he promptly organizes the facts and legal issues and presents a consistent response strategy.
Mr. Kim advises and represents major companies in the construction, logistics, semiconductor, automotive, and steel manufacturing industries, and, based on his in-depth understanding of the business structures and operational models of these industries, he provides practical and effective solutions. In particular, he has handled numerous cases and provided consulting services involving the employer status of the original contractor and response to subcontractor labor unions before and after the implementation of the Yellow Envelope Act. Based on his experience in securing non-indictment dispositions (no charges) in numerous criminal cases involving unfair labor practices, he possesses sophisticated capabilities in addressing corporate risks related to collective labor-management relations. He also handles cases where labor-related issues, such as labor unions, collective bargaining, and unfair labor practices, are intertwined with management control disputes.
