Overview
Joosung Park's practice focuses on traditional intellectual property rights, including patent right, trademark right, design right, and copyright, as well as litigations and advices relating to corporate information protection, trade secret infringement and unfair competition. Mr. Park mainly handles legal issues arising in connection with the state-of-the-art technologies of domestic and overseas IT companies, and also provides legal advice to various startups. He particularly has a keen interest and extensive experience in matters related to the entertainment industry, including games, sports, and content.
While working as a judge advocate for public service at the Ministry of Justice, Mr. Park obtained various experiences of serving as the head of the Tax Administrative Litigation Team of the Litigation Department and administrative secretary general of the Administrative Appeals Commission at the Seoul High Prosecutors' Office as well as a reviewer of the 7th and 8th Korean bar examinations. He also served on a panel for "Monday Living Law," a radio program of KBS (Gangneung), for eight months. Mr. Park also has direct experience in advising Woowa Brothers, which operates Korea's leading food delivery application "Baedal Minjok," on a range of legal issues arising in the field of platform companies. He earned a Master of Laws (LL.M.) from Georgetown University Law Center and was admitted to the New York bar in 2024, subsequently working as an international lawyer at the Washington, D.C. office of Morgan, Lewis & Bockius LLP, a global law firm, where he had first-hand experience in matters related to patent applications and disputes over state-of-the-art technologies. Mr. Park is currently a Ph.D. candidate at Seoul National University School of Law (major of International Economics Law).
