Overview

Garam Shon has advised major corporations, including Asiana Airlines, Naver, Amorepacific, Emart and other companies, on a wide range of domestic and international investment projects. He has accumulated extensive experience and knowledge in various cases, such as the establishment of subsidiaries and joint ventures, equity acquisitions, IPO and general corporate legal affairs (including compliance, fair trade, e-commerce, and data privacy). He is an expert on India and Southeast Asia, having in-depth practical knowledge gained through handling major recent cases in India. Mr. Shon earned an LL.B. and B.A. in Economics from Seoul National University, and obtained the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA) qualification before completing the 45th Judicial Research and Training Institute course.

Advised Company B on its renewable energy power generation project financing in India

Advised Company C on the disputes related to its subsidiaries in India and response to internal and external matters

Advised Company D on the listing of its Indian subsidiary

Advised Company E on the establishment and operation of an NBFC in India

Advised Company F on responding to an industrial accident in India

Advised numerous domestic funds on outbound overseas investments (i.e., establishment of subsidiaries or acquisition of shares) in the United States, the United Kingdom, and Germany (including acquisition finance, refinancing, and issuance of various notes)

Advised on domestic and cross-border disputes relating to overseas alternative investments

Conducted legal due diligence and reviewed related legal issues in connection with the IPO or delisting of major domestic and international companies (including Socar, SK Shieldus, Hyundai Oilbank, Hancom Lifecare, Kumyang Green Power, Osstem Implant, and GI Innovation, etc.)

Advised various companies, including Naver, Nomura Securities, Bayer, and Volvo, on general corporate legal affairs and compliance, including fair trade, e-commerce, and labeling and advertising regulations
