Overview
BKL opened our office in Hong Kong in 2015 as part of our strategic international growth plan and expansion of services to our clients based in Hong Kong’s global financial hub. We operate in Hong Kong as a registered foreign law firm to provide the full range of Korean law advice and draw on our extensive network and long-standing relationships with international and Hong Kong law firms to cooperate on multi-disciplinary and large scale cross-border work.
Our lawyers in Hong Kong work closely with, and tap into the wide resources of, our office in Korea to advise international clients on inbound matters that involve managing their Korean operations, including complex regulatory issues, high-stakes investigations and dispute resolution, and investing in Korean markets and businesses. Our Hong Kong office also serves as an access point to Hong Kong's financial markets for leading Korean financial institutions and corporations on outbound matters such as their overseas direct investments and M&A transactions, financing transactions and ventures into new markets as well as international arbitration cases. We also actively advise our Korean clients that use Hong Kong as a gateway for their investments in China and our Chinese clients that invest and conduct their business in Korea via Hong Kong.
