概要

BKL's Trade Strategy Innovation Hub (TSI Hub) was launched in March 2025 with the objective of delivering innovative response strategies to clients navigating a rapidly evolving and turbulent global trade environment.

As strategic competition between the U.S. and China intensifies, major trading nations are openly pursuing policies that prioritize their own national interests. In this climate, the World Trade Organization (WTO) system, which has long been considered a cornerstone of the global trading order, is being steadily undermined. Existing trade agreements are frequently disregarded and trade conflicts are increasingly settled through the logic of power rather than through established rules. As a result, the level playing field that once enabled the Republic of Korea to rise as a leading trading nation within the multilateral system is disappearing. Moreover, the interdependence of markets, technology, and resources, which was strengthened throughout the era of globalization, has been weaponized by major powers, posing significant challenges to Korea.

The era in which cross-border flows of trade and capital transcended differences in political systems—defined by a separation between economics and security—is rapidly giving way to an age of economic security, where the two domains are increasingly interconnected. Supply chains, once built primarily on efficiency, are now being restructured along the lines of economic security. As a result, Korea finds itself exposed along the fault lines of this fragmentation.

Against this backdrop, and amid the digital revolution and the accelerating advent of the AI era, navigating a rapidly evolving trade environment with strategic clarity has become a mission-critical imperative for corporate survival and long-term prosperity. In response, BKL has established and operates the TSI Hub to provide clients with comprehensive support through the development and execution of innovative response strategies. BKL’s top-tier professionals across relevant fields bring together within the TSI Hub the capabilities they have built over years of practice — combining deep experience and rigorous research with the sharp, refined insight they have developed along the way..
