Hosung Hwang specializes in strategic goods export control, U.S. export control (including EAR), national security reviews, M&A, investigations related to unlicensed exports, and international arbitration. He previously conducted semiconductor research at Samsung Advanced Institute of Technology and later at the Korea Strategic Trade Institute (KOSTI), where he led the advancement of export control systems through his work on strategic goods classification and responses to international export control regimes. Since 2019, Mr. Hwang has been serving as an advisor, accumulating extensive experience and assisting companies in resolving various compliance challenges. He is also an active member of several expert committees, including the Strategic Goods Technical Advisory Group under the Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy, the Technical Subcommittee for International Export Control Regimes at KOSTI, and the Advisory Committee on North Korea Sanctions Item Determination under the Inter-Korean Exchange and Cooperation Support Association.
