Kyoungkyeu Kim specializes in providing advisory services on sanctions related to unfair trading in the capital markets, particularly in areas such as market surveillance, inquiry, inspections, and detection of short selling, covering the initial response to unfair trading through to inquiry (investigation).
Mr. Kim served at the Korea Exchange (KRX) for 33 years starting from 1991, during which he carried out a wide range of duties relating to unfair trading regulations in the capital markets, including in the Inspection Department, the Special Short Selling Inspection Department, the Market Surveillance Department, and the Special Investigation Department.
In particular, as both team leader and department head during the establishment of the KRX Special Short-Selling Inspection Department, which was created to strengthen the regulation of short selling in the Korean capital markets, Mr. Kim gained know-how and expertise in core functions such as maintenance of related regulations, building detection systems, and establishing sanction criteria for short selling.
Mr. Kim also prepared the standards of analysis and regulation of suspected ultra-short-term unfair trading activities by major high-frequency global investors (draft). In addition, he has experience in market surveillance, inquiry, and inspections, and in developing criteria and systems for detecting unfair trading practice.
