Andrew Chongseh Kim is a senior foreign attorney in the International Arbitration & Litigation Practice Group at Bae, Kim & Lee LLC (BKL). Based in Seoul and licensed in Texas and Illinois, he advises multinational corporations, financial institutions, investors, and high-net-worth individuals on complex cross-border disputes, investigations, regulatory matters, and strategic transactions involving the United States and Korea.
Before joining BKL, Mr. Kim litigated at Greenberg Traurig LLP and Beck Redden LLP in Houston, Texas, building years of US court and international arbitration experience across a wide range of high-stakes commercial matters. His practice at BKL encompasses competition and antitrust, energy, construction, life sciences and medical devices, securities, private wealth, and other cross-border commercial disputes. He has acted as counsel in international arbitrations under the ICC, SIAC, and AAA rules, as well as in related proceedings before foreign courts.
A former law professor at Washington University in St. Louis School of Law, Mr. Kim built his academic career on data-driven legal analysis: applying statistical methods and quantitative modeling to complex legal questions. He also holds a triple major in Physics, Economics, and Anthropology from the University of Chicago. This rigorous technical and analytical foundation gives him an uncommon ability to master the scientific, financial, and quantitative issues that drive complex disputes and to present them persuasively before tribunals and courts.
Mr. Kim graduated with honors from Harvard Law School. His legal scholarship and commentary have been cited in briefs submitted to the United States Supreme Court, congressional hearings, and leading publications including The New Yorker, Bloomberg Businessweek, NBC News, 60 Minutes, USA Today, and the South China Morning Post. He is a Member of the Council of Korean Americans (CKA), a leading organization of Korean American leaders in business, law, government, and academia.
