Overview
Heungsoo Choi focuses his legal services on advising financial companies on obtaining approvals and permissions, responding to inspections and sanctions initiated against them, filing corporate disclosure statements, coping with investigations launched into their alleged unfair trade practices, and operating lawfully in the capital market.
Mr. Choi joined the Financial Supervisory Service through its third open recruitment in 2002. Whiling working there until 2023, he served in a number of departments—including the Securities Supervision Department, Asset Management Supervision Department, Corporate Disclosure Department, Investigation Department, and Enforcement Review Department—thereby building extensive experience in handling matters related to the capital market and inspections and sanctions initiated against financial companies.
Moreover, during his service in the Financial Supervisory Service, Mr. Choi was dispatched to Ministry of Finance and Economy (from 2005 until 2007) to assist it in preparing a bill on a capital market law by working in its task force organized to that end and to the Prosecutors' Office to participate in its investigations into unfair trade practices by working in its joint team organized to investigate financial and securities crimes (from 2013 until 2015).
