Young Soo Kim served at Samsung Group for 12 years as head of the Legal Team and in other executive capacities (vice president, senior vice president, and executive vice president), during which he oversaw the Group's major legal affairs. He held various posts, including executive officer in charge of the Legal Team of the Group Compliance Management Office, head of the Compliance Team and concurrently head of the Personal Information Protection Team at Samsung Electronics, head of the Legal Team of the Semiconductor Division at Samsung Electronics, and head of the Legal Team at Samsung Electro-Mechanics. In these roles, he was responsible not only for handling corporate-related litigation and other disputes, but also for managing internal corporate procedures, including preparations for general meetings of shareholders. Prior to joining Samsung, Mr. Kim served for 12 years as a judge at the Seoul Central District Court and other courts, presiding over civil, criminal, and non-contentious matters. He also practiced at Kim & Chang.
