Yonghae Shin’s practice primarily focuses on various criminal cases, including white-collar crimes, corporate criminal matters, public official offenses, and international crimes, as well as administrative litigation relating to correctional administration and responding to the government and the National Assembly with respect to criminal justice policy.

After passing the 39th National Higher Civil Service Examination on Government Administration, Mr. Shin supervised the custody and care of criminal suspects and defendants and supported the smooth conduct of criminal litigation while working at the Ministry of Justice and major correctional institutions for about 30 years. He has accumulated expertise in correctional administration and criminal justice policy, including correctional management of inmates and establishment of policies for prevention of recidivism as well as protection of inmates' human rights. In particular, Mr. Shin served as the Head of the Correctional Headquarter of the Ministry of Justice, the highest-ranking position among correctional officers, from September 2022 to May 2025. He is an expert in the field of criminal justice, having earned a doctoral degree in criminal law from Seoul National University School of Law while in office.
