Geon Ho Kim provides legal advisory services in the areas of infrastructure, energy, project finance, acquisition finance, overseas business development, and foreign investment. Mr. Kim's major clients include financial institutions such as domestic and foreign banks, insurance companies, pension funds, asset management companies and private equity firms as well as construction companies and energy-related enterprises.
Based on his extensive knowledge and experience in infrastructure, public-private partnership projects, private investment projects, energy, and renewable energy business, Mr. Kim has provided legal advice to various parties involved in the projects such as borrowers, sponsors, financial investors, and lenders across the entire stages of the projects ranging from business development, bidding, negotiations with the government, construction, and operation, to the completion phase, addressing a wide range of issues arising at each stage of various projects.
Mr. Kim has been recognized as a Rising Star Partner for three consecutive years, starting in 2021, in the IFLR1000 published by Delinian (f.k.a. Euromoney). Additionally, he has been distinguished in the area of project finance both domestically and internationally, having authored the Korea Chapter in Chambers Global Practice Guides - Project Finance (Editions 1 and 2), Chambers Global Practice Guides - Project Finance 2020, and the Getting the Deal Through - Project Finance 2016 published by Law Business Research. Drawing on this expertise and experience, Mr. Kim was recently recognized as a leading individual in the Projects & Energy sector in the 2024 edition of Chambers Asia-Pacific.
Mr. Kim earned B.A. in International Relations at Seoul National University and completed the Judicial Research and Training Institute of the Supreme Court of Korea. He also earned an LL.M. degree from the University of California, Berkeley School of Law. He has previous work experience at TMI Associates in Tokyo, where he worked in 2008.
