Chankie Lee provides advice on resolving tariff disputes and improving customs regulations and other customs administration matters based on his 25-year experience in working in the Korea Customs Service (KCS) and several regional customs, during which he had been engaged in major customs administration tasks, such as conducting enterprise investigations, handling customs-related legal affairs, and formulating customs administration plans.
Mr. Lee passed the National Higher Civil Service Examination on Government Administration, after which he joined the KCS and served there until his retirement as its highest-ranking officer. During his decades of service as a public official at the KCS, he not only became head of the Passenger and Simplified Clearance Division, commissioner of the Cheonan Regional Customs, head of the Internal Audit Division, commissioner of the Pohang Regional Customs, head of the Audit Policy Division, head of the Planning and Finance Division, and director of the Busan Regional Customs' Clearance Bureau, but, as a result of his promotion to higher-ranking positions, also held the post of director-general of Customs Border Control Training Center, director of the Clearance Support, director of the Audit Policy Bureau, director of the Planning and Coordination Bureau, and commissioner of the Incheon Regional Customs, eventually taking office as KCS commissioner.
