Jong Baek PARK



Attorney-at-law Jong Baek PARK has specialized in the general corporate transactions since 1992. He received the Chevening Scholarship awarded by the Foreign Commonwealth Office, UK and earned an LL.M. degree (International Financial Law) from the London School of Economics. He worked at the London headquarters and Hong Kong branch of Richards Butler, an UK law firm, for about one year. After returning to Korea, his practice mainly focused on finance and corporate related transactions.He provided advisory services regarding financial transactions, such as corporate finance, project finance, asset backed securitization, derivatives and M&A and advised clients regarding the PEF investment of pensions. For the first time in Korea, he advised on open source license and compliance related issues, which only began to be discussed in Korea in 2007, and he made a presentation related to such issues at the international conference hosted by FSFE and Linux Foundation.
Moreover, he plays key role in hosting the FOSS Con, Korea International Conference sponsored by the Ministry of Science, ICT and Future Planning of Korea. After joining BKL as a partner in November, 2013, he has continued to practice in the areas of inbound and outbound financial transactions, PEF, info-communications industry and open source related advice. He also provides advisory services for various committees and governmental agencies regarding the finance, national pension and open source related issues.
