The importance of corporate social responsibility and ethical management has been emphasized worldwide, and throughout the years companies have been strengthening their anti-corruption and compliance systems. Due to the implementation of the Foreign Corrupt Practices Act (“FCPA”) and the implementation of the OECD Convention on Combating Bribery of Foreign Public Official in International Business Transactions by the OECD member states, a growing number of companies have been concerned about anti-corruption and compliance issues in their home jurisdiction and abroad. In South Korea, with the recent enactment and implementation of the Improper Solicitation and Graft Act (so-called anti-graft law), a growing number of companies have been seeking legal advice.
